Pridoli (22)

Province:
Xinjiang

Type Locality and Naming

It was named by No. 4 Team of the Xinjiang Regional Geological Survey in 1959, and published by Chen Xu et al in 1990. The nominative section is about 15 km north of Keyi Town, north of Baicheng County in the middle-lower reaches of Artankos River.

The chert beds are more common and intercalated with basalt beds at the lower part. Upper member is composed of grey and dark grey thin-to-thick-bedded crystalline limestone, with interbeds of grey brown and grey purple tuffaceous sandy conglomerate in the middle and upper parts. The thickness is 1300 m at the type section.

Lithology Pattern:
Sandy limestone
